SAIC’s affordable Roewe M7 PHEV with 2,050km range starts pre-sale at 13,700 USD

SAIC’s Roewe M7 DMH entry-level long range sedan is opened for pre-sale, available in three trims priced from 97,800 to 114,800 yuan (13,700 to 16,000 USD). The new car is SAIC’s first production model created by Josef Kabaň, previously design chief at Rolls-Royce, with a CLTC comprehensive range of 2,050 km and a pure electric range of 160 km.
For comparison, the other plug-in hybrid sedan in the same class have the following CLTC pure electric range:

Positioned as a medium-to-large sedan, the Roewe M7 DMH has body dimensions of 4940/1890/1510 mm (l/w/h), and a 2820 mm wheelbase. The vehicle curb weight is 1,670 kg and the minimum turning radius is 5.8 m.

The Roewe M7 DMH is the mass-produced version of the “Pearl” concept car. Notable design elements include a large front grille, accented by waterfall-style chrome trims and paired with split headlights on both sides. The “ROEWE” logo embedded on the front grille can also lit up in the dark.
Powertrain.
The powertrain comes from SAIC’s fifth-generation DMH hybrid technology, consisting of a 1.5L engine, a front electric motor, 19.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, and mated to a DHT, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 160 km and comprehensive range of 2,050 km. The standard fuel tank capacity is 55L.
The 1.5L engine delivers 82 kW (110 hp) of maximum power, 135 Nm of peak torque, and maximum thermal efficiency of 43%. The electric motor boasts a maximum power of 137 kW (184 hp) and a peak torque of 330 Nm. The top speed is 185 km/h, the CLTC comprehensive fuel consumption is 2.91L/100km, and the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 7.9 seconds.
