Chery opened its Jetour Zongheng G700 plug-in hybrid off-road SUV for pre-sales at the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show with a 700 yuan (98 USD) deposit. Notably, the car can wade through water for a duration of 40 minutes with a water resistant cabin. The official price range has not been revealed at this time. Zongheng is a new off-road series under Jetour.
The Jetour Zongheng G700 retains the classic boxy exterior design and the rear spare external tire as an off-road SUV. Two towing hooks are present on both the front and rear bumpers.
It is worth pointing out the taillights can be programmed for digital display of various shapes and words.
The advanced driving assistance system comes from Chery’s Falcon 500, which can realize high-speed NOA and parking assist capabilities.
As a full-size SUV, the Jetour Zongheng G700 measures 5198/2050/1956 mm (l/w/h), and boasts a 2870 mm wheelbase, a maximum ground clearance of 320 mm, and a maximum wading depth of 970 mm. The official claimed that the Jetour Zongheng G700 can wade through water for a duration of 40 minutes at a maximum vehicle speed of 4.5 knots. The cabin is also resistant to a water pressure of 20 kPa and a water current of 5 m/s.
Power comes from Chery’s Kunpeng super-performance electric hybrid CDM-O system, comprising of a 2.0T engine and dual electric motors, mated to a 2-speed DHT, delivering a combined power of 560 kW (751 hp) and a torque of 795 Nm. The 2.0T engine has a maximum power of 155 kW (208 hp), a peak torque of 340 Nm, a thermal efficiency of 45.5%. The fuel consumption is 1.39 L per 100 km and the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 4.6 seconds.
Combined with the onboard 4C Shenxing battery pack supplied by CATL, the Jetour Zongheng G700 has a comprehensive range of 1,400 km. Under fast-charging, it takes 10 minutes to recharge the battery from 30% to 80%.
