Geely Galaxy M9 full-size SUV started presales in China for 27,040 USD

The Geely Galaxy M9 full-size plug-in hybrid SUV kicked off presales in China with a starting price of 193,800 yuan (27,040 USD). It is a six-seat family driver with a dual-chamber air suspension, up to 870 hp, and an electric range of 210 km. In the future, this model will enter overseas markets.

The M9 is a flagship model of the Geely Galaxy brand, founded in 2023. Its current model line comprises ten cars, with the Geely Xingyuan hatchback being the bestselling car in China for the first seven months of 2025 (according to China EV DataTracker). Outside China, Geely Galaxy vehicles are being sold under the Geely brand with no ties to the Galaxy series.

The Geely Galaxy M9 is a mass-produced successor of the Geely Galaxy Starship concept car revealed at the Beijing Auto Show 2024. It is a large car with a “Brilliant Galaxy” LED strip in the front end joining two headlamps. The rear end of the car adopts a single taillight unit. Other features of the Geely Galaxy M9 exterior are conventional door handles, a LiDAR sensor on the roof, and multi-spoke rims.

Dimensions of the Geely Galaxy M9 are 5205/1999/1800 mm with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. For clarity, it is 4 mm shorter than the Mercedes-Benz GLS. Geely said that the M9 has the best-in-class in-cabin space utilization rate of 88.3%. Thanks to the double-chamber air suspension, this large family driver can adjust its ground clearance by 95 mm. Another benefit of the Galaxy M9 is a continuous damping control system.

Inside, the Geely Galaxy M9 has three rows with a 2+2+2 seat layout. Each seat of the car boasts power adjustment and heating functions, while the first-row and second-row seats adopt ventilation and massage functions. The second row uses a flat floor and the aisle with a width of 180 mm for easier entrance to the third row.

The center console of the Geely Galaxy M9 adopts a thin 12.66-inch LCD instrument panel complemented by a head-up display. Another highlight of the car’s cabin is a large 30-inch screen that can be used by the driver and the passenger simultaneously. There is also a ceiling-mounted 17.3-inch monitor with 3K resolution for the rear passengers.

Geely Galaxy M9 powertrain & prices

The top-trim level of the car features a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 120 kW (161 hp) and three electric motors. The total power output of the system reaches 649 kW (870 hp). The peak torque is 1,165 Nm. The AWD variant of the Geely Galaxy M9 speeds up to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Its fuel consumption with a depleted battery is 4.8 liters per 100 km.

There are two battery options available: an 18.4 kWh pack for 100 km, and a 41.5 kWh battery for 210 km. The Geely Galaxy M9 will also be available for purchase with an FWD. Its peak power output has yet to be released.
