Increased 2024 Q3 Sales Keep Ford as America’s Best-Selling Brand

In addition to being the best-selling brand overall, Ford is also the sales leader in trucks, hybrid trucks, vans, three-row SUVs, and sports cars.

The overall automotive market saw sales decrease by two percent in Q3.

However, Ford bucked the trend according to their latest report and saw an overall one percent increase in sales last quarter.

The strong sales mean that Ford retains the title of the best-selling brand in America overall.

In addition, they also lead in several key segments such as trucks (F-Series), hybrid trucks (F-150 Hybrid), vans (Transit), three-row SUVs (Explorer), and sports cars (Mustang).

Ford also remains the number two electric vehicle brand in America thanks to EV sales that increased by 12 percent in Q3.

Ford Pro Intelligence software platform active subscriptions are up 30 percent year-over-year.

Lincoln sales were up 26 percent.

Even remote service experiences have seen increased numbers.

Ford is the best-selling brand because it offers exceptional vehicles with a wide array of power plants.

From traditional gasoline and diesel to hybrid and fully electric.
“Different lifestyles and use cases require unique types of power,” said Andrew Frick, president, Ford Blue and Ford Customer Service Division.

“We’ve listened to customers to offer them vehicles with powertrains to meet their specific needs, and their response validates our product strategy.” Let’s take a look at some of the specific sales results.

Best-Selling Trucks and Vans

F-Series truck sales totaled 550,835 through September.

That is 138,000 more truck sales than the Silverado and 282,000 more than Ram.

That makes it unlikely that either will be able to prevent the F-Series from taking the crown as America’s best-selling truck for the 48th consecutive year.

F-150 Hybrid (the PowerBoost) sales increased by 64 percent in Q3 for a total of 20,129 trucks.

Ford sold 16,561 Maverick Hybrids which was an increase of 22 percent.

Together the trucks own 77 percent of the hybrid pickup truck segment.

F-150 Lightning sales more than doubled in Q3. That helped Ford to post a 12 percent gain in overall EV sales for the quarter. Ford has sold 67,689 EVs through September.
