A Lamborghini and a Mercedes AMG G63 smuggled into Vietnam were demolished on Wednesday, after four years with no one claiming them.

The disposal was carried out by the police of central Quang Binh Province.

Both supercars lacked legal documents, and they were second-hand vehicles.

They were kept at the Quang Binh police headquarters for four years, and no one had come to claim them.

The Lamborghini was a green, two-seater vehicle with a cylinder capacity of 6,500 cubic centimeters.
The car's paint was peeled in many spots, revealing the original black underneath.

Its front windshield was broken, while the logo on the front bumper and four wheels were missing.

The Mercedes-AMG G63 auto was yellow and had four seats and a cylinder capacity of 5,461 cubic centimeters.

Four years prior, 56-year-old Truong Thanh Binh, who lives in Hanoi, drove a truck carrying the two cars from Hanoi to HCMC on National Highway 1.

When the cars reached Quang Binh, Binh was stopped by police forces for a check-up.
Binh was unable to provide papers to prove the cars’ legal origins.

The national vehicle registration system also did not have any data on the two cars.

As such, the cars were seized by authorities for investigation.

They had no records of their license plates, chassis numbers, or engine numbers.

As a result, the vehicles were abandoned in a parking lot in Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province.

-What's the point of destroying valuable automobiles ? They could have been auctioned off and the proceeds added to underfunded projects --- instead they are wasted as only just material for recycling, if that. Pompous puritanism.

- They could have been broken down for spare parts and the money used to fund a school or something..
