It will be a while until Toyota starts shipping the new generation Land Cruiser to its customers living in the United Kingdom.
Nevertheless, the company based in the Land of the Rising Sun has finally started accepting orders for the iconic SUV.
The Japanese automaker offers the 2024 Land Cruiser in two specifications called the First Edition and the Invincible, and they're quite different from each other, from a visual perspective, anyway.
You see, the First Edition is an official nod to the classic Land Cruiser 40. It sports round headlamps and a bi-tone paint finish that combines Light Sand or Smoky Blue with a Light Gray roof.
This model also has black 18-inch alloys and First Edition badging. The upholstery, door trims, and instrument panel are exclusive to it.
Toyota offers the First Edition version of the 2024 Land Cruiser in limited numbers this year and is asking a minimum of £79,995 (equal to $99,939).
As for the other variant available, the Invincible, interested parties will have to cough out at least £74,995 ($93,693). In the United States, the base version has an MSRP of $55,950 (£44,778).
Both have a five-door body style, a seven-seat interior, black leather upholstery, air conditioning, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The cloud-based and embedded navigation is included, alongside the digital dials behind the steering wheel, a head-up display so that the person driving it doesn't have to take their eyes off the road to see various information, a 14-speaker audio system from JBL, a sunroof, a panoramic view monitor, roof rails, and so on. Unlike the 18-inch wheels equipping the First Edition, the Invincible is offered with 20-inch alloys.
Powering both versions of the SUV, the First Edition and the Invincible, is a 2.8-liter turbodiesel, which works in concert with an automatic transmission that features eight forward gears.
The four-wheel drive system is obviously included, and Toyota says a mild-hybrid powertrain will debut next year.
According to Toyota, this iconic model will become available in July, and interested parties will have to place an order soon should they want the First Edition, given its limited availability.
Customer deliveries in the United Kingdom will kick off in September.
