Powertrain options pair a 1.5T hybrid-dedicated engine with electric motors, with outputs ranging from 234 kW in entry-level versions to 340 kW in higher-spec models. The top configuration enables 0–100 km/h acceleration in 5.28 seconds. Charging from 0% to 80% can be completed in as little as 23 minutes, and the SUV also supports 6 kW external power output for outdoor use.

At the rear, vertical taillights shaped like a Viking axe further emphasise Volvo’s recognisable styling. The SUV measures 4,815 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,895 mm. Customers can choose from seven exterior colours and multiple wheel options ranging from 19 to 21 inches.

Volvo has confirmed that the XC70 will be manufactured in Taizhou, Zhejiang, under global standards, with exports planned for more than 70 markets. Pricing places the model between traditional luxury SUVs and newer new-energy competitors, targeting both domestic and international markets.
