Someone spent $76,980 on a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and put it up for sale practically right after leaving the dealership! What is wrong with people?!! Ten miles, only ten miles! That’s it. Weird? Yes. Unexpected? Much. But maybe after reading this, you start to understand why. Let’s see...
This 2024 Camaro is not just any Camaro. It has a six-speed manual transmission and is painted in a color you don’t see every day: Nitro Yellow Metallic, wow, definitely special. So special that only 24 units exist like this. Uh-huh, that already changes things. This isn’t just another car: it was a collector’s item!
And why sell it so fast?
Everything points to the buyer not wanting it to drive, but to make money. He bought it for nearly $77,000 and auctioned it shortly after for around $80,000. Did it work out? Seems like it did. But the curious thing is that, if he had waited a few years, that car could be worth double! What a poor use of resources… But yes, that’s how rare and special models like this ZL1 work, the more time passes, the more they’re worth, like art itself.
The most wanted Camaro of the generation
The ZL1 is the most desired version of the sixth-generation Camaro. And it’s no longer being made: production ended in December, which raises the price of any of these vehicles even more. Still, there are a few new units floating around on the second-hand market. They’re like an oasis. Real gems.
This one in particular has a 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine, with 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and does the quarter mile in 11.4 seconds, surpassing 200 km/h. All that power goes straight to the rear axle with the help of an electronic limited-slip differential. Translation: it’s a beast.
What else do we know about this vehicle?
The color says it all, but it’s not the only thing. This ZL1 comes with a sunroof, black accents on the hood, rear spoiler, HID headlights, 20-inch wheels in dark graphite and Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires (285 front and 305 rear). Everything a true petrolhead loves.
Inside, it’s upholstered in black leather with microfiber details and red stitching. It has a head-up display, rear camera, climate control, wireless charging, and a good list of gadgets that fit right in.
Is there a better ZL1?
Maybe. But in this color and with only 10 miles, hard, very hard. If someone is looking for something even more exclusive, they could try their luck with a special collector’s edition or with one of the Garage 56 models, of which only 56 units were made. One of those was just sold for $202,000. That’s how the collector’s market is right now… It almost costs the same as a house.
What makes this car special?
Wait, do you really need more information? Ok… Since the end of Camaro production was announced, the ZL1 became an object of desire. It has power, exclusivity and that classic American soul. And in this case in particular, it has barely been driven, we’re talking about a practically new car!
